Rough morning...

I left a very sad Aidan at school this morning. They did not have outside recess like they do in the mornings typically because it is picture day. He was so sad and would not let me go. I stayed with him a while outside the cafeteria where they had all the kids watching a movie. One of the teachers aides got a hold of him and was loving on him too until the bell rang and he could go to his class. He went to his class okay, but it is not like him to be like that at school. Now I am all upset that I had to leave him sad and not his usual happy go lucky self. I am supposed to meet up with some girls down the street for playgroup this morning and now I just don't feel like going.

Our fence is finished finally too. They finished early Monday afternoon and Alex is outside as she should be on nice weather days. I think it looks pretty good. I think I have a before picture in my June blog entries if you want to compare. I will have to double check. Anyway, I hope the rest of the day turns out a little better. We have flag football and open house tonight, plus Aidan is really tired in the mornings so I need to get him to bed a bit earlier, more like 7:30. Don't think that is happening today, but we will try. Have a great day folks.

The saga of the dog continues...

Yesterday for reasons of her own which I can not fathom at this point, the dog refused to go out. I took her out at least a dozen times and she would barely set foot on the lawn. When she would step on the lawn she would only stand by me, no sniffing nothing. As the day wore on I decided to keep her penned in the kitchen because too much time had passed and I was concerned that she would hide somewhere and make a mess. Needless to say, I went to bed about 9:30 last night and she had not gone to the bathroom since about 6pm on Saturday. Well, I woke up this morning to piles of poo and pee. Not just one time, but several times. I put her outside for a while and realizing that she would not leave the porch, I have her crated until B comes home this afternoon. At this rate, she will probably pee in her crate, but at least I won't have to smell it. I have mopped twice and the kitchen still smells to high heaven.

Feeling overwhelmed...

I have so much to do and I am not sure how I am ever going to get it done. My extra task that I took care of this week was clean out my laundry room. My machines were covered in dust and there was sand and sawdust all over the floor from several beach trips and the repair on the bilco door. My office is a clutter of shambles that I need to get in order. I am just not sure where I am going to find the time. I have a pile of ironing to do to. I may do that during Ainsley's nap tomorrow. B is headed to Chicago during the weekend and leaves after lunch tomorrow. At least he can take Aidan to swimming class. Much better day today as I went to the grocery store and bought more pork chops or dog food as we are now calling them.

One Dog in need of a new home

Aidan has football at 4:30 on Tu/Th so I have been making dinner early so that we can eat when we get home. Since I am sans fence I covered all the food and penned Alex in the kitchen. When we get back, I head into the kitchen to heat everything up and I see the towel I had used to cover the flaming hot baking dish I pulled out of the over just before we left on the floor and the baking dish was empty. SHE ATE ALL 4 PORK CHOPS! B took us to McD's which could not even touch the Puerto Rican extraveganza I was looking forward to. Dog for sale. Seriously...

I said I could just kill her. To which Aidan responds for the second time this week. Mom please don't kill the dog. I won't kill her, but she better not get sick all over my freshly mopped floor either. No more ranting this week I promise!

Praise Jesus!

B is home and fence construction started today! B will be leaving again Saturday for the Bears/Cowboys game and will be back on Monday morning. He promised this will be the last time he will be going out for non-business travel for a while. This just came at a bad time, but has been scheduled for months now. I think I deserve a weekend at a spa...

Not much to blog about today...

but I will say that I am in a much better mood. The dog and I have some to an understanding, basically she won't pee on the floor and I won't take her to the humane society. Yesterday afternoon everyone behaved. I was able to go to bible study and was actually able to get the kids high chair in the back of my car and finally get it donated to the church nursery. I got to see one of my new Aggie friends from Texas that actually was able to join bible study with me. Aidan played his first flag football game and even though they did not win I am really impressed with how well they played and what good sports they were for a bunch of 5 year olds. Aidan even made a few great catches and was running with all his might. I loved seeing him try so hard. Sore throat is finally getting better this morning after a really bad evening and night. Why is it that colds/sore throats/ fevers always seem worse at night? Took Ainsley to tumbling this morning. She did not like taking your shoes and socks off at first but warmed up to it in the end. I was actually invited by the other 2 Moms in the class to join them in the family fun center which Ainsley agreed to go to and we let the kids play and chatted for 30 minutes or so. It was really nice. My new friend Miss B asked me about MOPS and I told her if she was interested in starting a group I would be more than happy to help. Neither one of us knows too many people so it should be interesting if this thing actually comes to fruition. Well that is it for today, more another time I guess!

Sometimes...

our dog just gets on my last nerve! Friday the workers came by to remove the old fence. This was a day I have been dreading since B said that he wanted to replace the silly thing. The dog has been inside since then only making trips outside while supervised. She doesn't like this as I can take her out on 4-5 occasions and she won't do anything yet she is crying at the door to go out. Normally I leave the dog out since she wants in and out so often and when she is out she is at the door crying to come in. Go figure. As always when we have work done on the house of late, B headed to Cleveland until Wednesday night. I took the dog out this morning when I am pressed for time to get Aidan to school. She did not actually go until I got back. Went out for the morning and she took another visit outside to no avail. I put a load of laundry in and went up for a nap. While I admit I made the mistake of leaving the basement door open. She still shouldn't have done it. She pooped in the basement! Now she is in her crate so that I don't kill her and I have tried to take her out yet again. I hate not having a fence. I don't have the time to sit there with her so that she can sniff and bark and everything that moves. URGH! Not only that I have a sore throat brewing! Also, B had made an appointment to take the pets in for their blood tests today to check on their meds. He made the appointment for 5pm and now he is in Cleveland. So guess who is getting stuck hauling 2 kids and 2 animals to the vets office when I need to be making something for dinner. Me. As always lately...me. I am so sick and if I don't take them in today I am going to run out of their meds. I already had to ask for more pills for the dog and they would only refill me through today because of the blood test. I am so sick of pets right now...Sorry for ranting once again. Nobody is going to think I am ever in a good mood.

Look what I did today!

I am so proud of myself...I finally cleaned out my fridge. Yippee! Its clean!

Are you ready for some football?

Not the greatest picture, but true to the day. Aidan like another little boy on his team feels the need to fall down on the ground everytime he tries to make a catch. Don't know why except that maybe he sees players on TV fall down alot. Not sure about that one, but funny nonetheless.
Ainsley is on the mend. She has no appetite and is very tired, but she does not have a fever this morning. Hopefully she will be well enough that I can do some grocery shopping tomorrow.
One last thing to add. Completely off any topic... but can I just say how much I love Haagen Daz (sp?) Zesty Lemon sorbet. Awesome and refreshing!
Oh and Miss H since I can't seem to leave you comments, but I know that you read this. B is added to prayers as requested. Let me know what is going on okay. Love you guys!

Aidan is a Badger!

Aidan started flag football with the Y today. We signed him up for a sport against my better judgement. He was been pretty grumpy by the end of the week last week. He had a blast though. This week is practice and next week is the first game. Aidan is on the red team which is the Badgers. I got some great pics which I will have to post another time.

Ainsley woke up sick this morning so we were not able to go to bible study today and tumbling tomorrow is iffy. I also needed to pick up a few things at the store in order to make it through another day or two before going full grocery shopping. I may just have to drag a sick Ainsley into the store with me. So far it is just fever, but that is enough to make her miserable. Oh and the school year and cooler weather just started...what am I in for this year. Keep us and our health in your prayers. I need to make the kids appointments for flu shots next month...maybe I should get one too.

I need help!

B is considering upgrading my vehicle since it is the family car. There is one that I like but we have decided that it is not practical and the novelty will wear off quickly as it would not be a comfortable ride. I have a few decisions to make and I just don't know which way to go. These are the big 4 as far as issues not in any order.

1. I would like my vehicle to have heated seats.
2. I would like to have more seating.
3. I would like to have 4 wheel or all wheel drive.
4. Price must be reasonable. I am hoping to come in around upper 20s to lower 30.s

How important are any one of these things? I am not sure as I can't decide if there is one I can like without. I can't believe I am going to say it but I have even looked at a mini-van, however, the only one that I have even liked the way it looked was priced well over 30K and no all wheel drive. You see my situation. Any suggestions anyone? Advice would be appreciated.

First day pics...

Aidan was so excited to tell me about his day and how funny his teacher is. Plus, she is going to have a baby! How exciting! He loves recess the best especially since he gets to go twice. He has had a breat time playing superheros with his buddies from preschool and the new boys in his class. I am so glad he is happy. I knew he would be.
Yesterday was rather long even though I kept myself pretty busy. Today hasn't been quite so bad, and I know I will just get used to this new phase of life. I just hope that he always enjoys school as much as he does now. Later folks!

Aidan's first day...

went better than I expected. He did very well, which I knew would not be a problem. I was down, but not quite the blubbering mess that I expected. Tears were shed though. I happened upon an ad in the paper this weekend about a new quilt shop opening. I decided to go by the store today to check it out in order to keep my mind off Aidan being away. We were busy until lunch and that was when it hit me he was gone. He hasn't been away for lunch since I sent him to Mothers Day Out when he was 3. I have pictures which I will try to get posted tomorrow. I only took pictures of him at home as school was chaotic and Ainsley was very nervous of all the crowd and noisy buses. Hopefully tomorrow morning will go as smoothly as this one did. Aidan also earned his first superstar for good behavior. I hope that continues. Next week we will jump into our busy schedule once again with bible study for me and tumbling for Ainsley. I had forgotten how different it is to have only one child at home during the day. Stay cool peeps, it is awfully warm here for early September.

Kites over Lake Michigan

Some of the sights from the kite festival at the lake this weekend.
