Sanity reigns today...

I feel better today about what went on yesterday. I still am not sure about how to approach dealing with the situation. I have to take Aidan over there tomorrow for a birthday party. Maybe I can convince B to go so that I can mull things over a bit longer. We will see. We have TiVo so he can tape any football game that he wants to see. No excuses there. He will probably tell me that he has to go into work because he mentioned it yesterday. I am hoping he will go in today. Anyway, sanity prevails. Thanks H for your note yesterday. I felt like I was going to blow a gasket and I am glad to know I am not the only one who would have gotten upset at the whole situation.

Apparently plans are made without me...

I have mentioned to a few of you about my dreaded picking up from school situation. I feel like I am being bullied by 6 year olds and I get really upset about the whole thing. Today, in my mind, I have reached my absolute limit. One of the kids Dad's approached me and said is Aidan coming over today. Apparently, it has been discussed previously with another parent and never mentioned to me. I don't know if this child's parent doesn't like me or what as she barely says 3 words to me and then tries to parent my children. This is the parent of the same child that had been harrassing Aidan since the beginning of the school year and is our neighbor. I am to the point that I don't know what to say or do. If I say no, I am going to take home screaming children because Ainsley gets in on the action as well. I feel completely undermined as a parent. Sorry to vent, but I am more pissed off that I have been in a very long time. I am trying and trying with this lady and I pray about it and I just don't know what to do. I am trying to go with the flow and be flexible, but I don't like that this is not being discussed with me and my children never get to have their friends over here. Should I even be upset? Argh, frustrated frustrated frustrated! I feel disrespected and it makes me mad.

Sick sick sick today...

come again another day. Okay so I am delirious. Cold season has started for me with a bang yesterday. I was fine in the afternoon and by bedtime the scratchy throat had started. Hope that this passes quickly. At least it got me out of freezing my tushie off at Aidan's flag football game. Actually though, I would rather be there than feel bad. Vitamin C here I come!

Why is it...

that when I go get Aidan from school in the afternoon, it is pure chaos and when B goes he has an easy as pie afternoon. Go figure that today is the day that everyone else has something to do and we are actually free to let the kids play a bit. Go figure. Off to finish my bible study as I am behind yet again this week. I was doing to well at keeping up and I have just been off my game the last few weeks. I did manage to do a purge and clean up of Aidan's bookshelf today. Boy, it was in desperate need. Wednesday I am going to try to organize Ainsley's a bit. Ah well, I will leave you all with a field trip picture.

On to uplifting things...

Last weekend, I spent most of my Saturday at a craft day at my church. I had such a fun time of fellowship and it was so productive too! While I was away B took the kiddos to Schuette Park where they had a blast and came home filthy. I always judge how much fun they have had, by how dirty they come home.

This weekend we went to the pumpkin patch. This year they had a bunch of baby bunnies. Ainsley just loved this little one and wanted to take him home. No way, I don't care how cute you are. She is cute though...

Aidan of course won the race through the corn maze. I had to help Ainsley out because she kind of panicked when she lost sight of Aidan. It is a small corn maze so it was just perfect for them.

And finally the fruits of our labor. I love the green gourd. I don't think you can see it well, but it looks like a goose. Very odd and very cute. We had a great Saturday and the weather was so nice. I finally got the field trip pictures off the camera and I will post some cute ones maybe tomorrow. Later taters!

Cooking day...

one of my hubby's employees wives just had a baby so I have been in the kitchen most of the morning after taking a break to watch a movie with my peanut. My hubby hasn't called me back so I am hoping he is planning on delivering this meal since I am quickly running out of my available window. This afternoon we have one of Aidan's buddies from school last year coming over. There will be playtime and their Mom is bringing pizza. Owen goes to a different elementary this year so the boys only get to see each other when we plan a get together. It has been a busy week again, but next week is the last week of football so hopefully the schedule will ease up after that. I am so in need of a pajama Saturday morning! Well, yesterday I chaperoned Ainsley's trip to the pumpkin patch. It was a cold morning on the farm, so I did not get too many pictures because Ainsley was snuggled close to me but I got a few. Hopefully I will get my act together and post those soon. I am hoping to head with Aidan to the pumpkin patch this weekend so we shall see how it goes. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I've been tagged...

I am honored as I have never been tagged before, but this looked like fun.

I don't know that I can come up with 7 weird facts about myself though that other people may not know about. I don't find myself that interesting. We will see how it goes...

1. I am unbelievably fussy when it comes to my kitchen cabinets. I have 2 sets of dishes shame style different color, and when put away they must be alternating...burgundy green burgundy green. Also my tupperware cabinet must always be in order by size. My sister busted me on this once and showed it to a friend of mine. It wasn't until then that I realized that I had never ever let anyone see my cabinets.

2. I love living here by the lakeshore. I love that giant lake and all the smells and weather it brings. Yes, I even love the fishy smell as it reminds me of the beach in PR. Love love love it. I will be extremely sad if we ever have to move away. I always wanted to live close to the ocean and for now this is as close as I am going to get. When B was looking for jobs the search was supposed to be for the southeast coast. Needless to say the companies he interviewed with were all in the Midwest. Does that tell you something about God's plan.

3. I have just discovered how wonderful Chocolate soy milk is. Sweet, but not too sweet and wonderful for adding to coffee in the mornings. My own mocha without all the extra sugar and fat. YUMMO!

4. Since moving to the Midwest, I have been becoming quite the earthy crunchy person much to my hubby's chagrin. I have started using more earth friendly cleaning products. Tried my hand at a vegetable garden at which I have been quite successful, I have a freezer full to prove it. If only he would let me compost! Plus, I have always been an avid recycler. Many more natural products in my house and I definitely try to shop local produce as much as possible.

5. I am a total homebody. I like it that way. My home is my sanctuary and I love to be here and comfortable. This causes trouble when we travel because I get stressed and can't sleep. Every now and then it is super fun to have a nice evening out with my hubby or my friends.

6. I find the whole political process frustrating. I am so sick to death of all the election ads. This is the first time in memory that I have lived somewhere that so much campaigning has gone on for a presidential election. I have received calls at my house! Argh! The media is so biased even though they claim not to be and I find it difficult to get any information that doesn't have a spin on it from one camp or the other. I know who I will vote for come election day. Enough already.

7. I could waste a whole day in antique shops. Very seldom do I buy anything, but I love to root around and see what treasures there are to be had. I haven't been to an antique shop since we moved as I don't really have the need for anything and since I don't really know anyone interested in that sort of thing. I should just go by myself, but I haven't. I have the itch to go again though as it is coming to holiday time. Maybe I will find a treasure for me and send B to go get it as my Christmas gift. I am in need of some new dishes...

Well, I don't know 7 people on blogger so I will tag the few that I know. My dear friend Jess on It's all about family. My dear friend Becca on Confessions of a Former Fat Girl and my dear friend Nicole on It's all about the boys. Tag your it!

Confession time...

as I am going to need some of my friends to help keep me accountable. I recently went to the doctor and found that my cholesterol is borderline high. 229 to be exact. I have never had high cholesterol so this took me off guard. I have a feeling it is due to a new medication I have been taking this past year, but I have put myself of a low fat low cholesterol diet and am working on increasing my exercise. My diet was okay previously. We eat fairly well at home, but a big problem I have is the eating out. We have a dinner out about once a week and lunch on Sunday afternoon, and the dinner out tends to do the most damage. We have eaten out since and I am trying to make better choices. This whole thing has completely stressed me out. I feel like a ticking time bomb and my cholesterol is not even that high. Completely freaked out. My main dietary change has been cutting out cheese. Oh, how I miss it! I will indulge however when I head down to Texas on our next trip. I must have Mexican food. Anyway, people...help keep me in check if you please especially if we are having a dinner out!

Have you ever...

had so much on your mind, you just didn't know where to begin. That is where I am this morning. I had e-mailed a friend that is struggling with some things right now to check on her. I got a response back this morning and was surprised at some of the things she said. It has taken me completely off guard and I just don't feel equipped to answer her properly. I have to think on my response so your prayers for the proper words would be appreciated.

B left for a trade show in Las Vegas this morning. I am not jealous about Vegas as I have never been terribly interested in going. Sometimes though, his trips seem a little fishy to me. Like the weekend at the Cowboys game last month. Sure you have to schmooze with the vendor sure. I am teasing a bit, he is the pm and has to go to these types of things. Sometimes that company sure seems like a boys club though. They are treating us well, so I can't complain. I do miss him though.

Well, not much else to post here today as like I said above I have a bunch on my mind. Not terribly exciting I am afraid. Hope everyone has a great week.

Fall Color...

As much as I may not appreciate the cold weather and snow that comes with it. Not totally true, I appreciate it from the comfort of my chaise lounge with a cup of hot tea and a warm quilt. I truly love the beauty of the fall color.
The view from my porch is breathtaking this time of year. Well, I have to say it is pretty all year, but God really shows his hand with the rainbow of colors that the trees turn every fall.

The season of sweaters, hot chocolate and hot tea, chili, hot soup and football. For as much as I don't like the snow, I love the fall.
It has been a busy week in this house. Some of it was my own doing as I am working on clearing out the pile of clothing I have in the basement to be donated to Goodwill. I took a bunch of toys and some clothing in the other day and yesterday I got 4 more bags of clothing ready to go. I want to get as much of the basement cleared out as possible because B keeps talking about starting the finishing process to turn part of it into his man cave and rec room area. I like the idea, but I worry that if it is not cleared out for when he gets in the mood to start it will be another excuse for him not to get started. Now, he won't be able to say, well I haven't gotten started because there was too much stuff down there. If I work on it a little while every week then I will be able to get it done before winter. The people at Goodwill are really going to love me. I have almost 2 years worth of accumulation down there! I was spoiled back home with the Leukemia Society coming to pick up at my door every other month or so. Anyway, I am hoping for a low key weekend. We have a birthday party and I have a nursery volunteer meeting at church in the morning and that is about it. Well, I hope everyone has a blessed weekend! Later!

Heat wonderful heat!

Oh how nice it is to feel the warm radiators warming the house. Love love love it! Hopefully tomorrow will not be so damp and chilly. Either way, I am having B take out the kids AC units tonight. We haven't needed them in a while and from how quickly the weather has changed we won't be needing them again until next summer. Ah well, I must get some pictures of the fall color around here. The leaves they are lovely.

How depressing...

to spend all that money on a new high efficiency boiler and it doesn't seem to be working. It was cold in the house this morning! B has called the heating people so hopefully they will come out later today. Don't know what the problem is since the unit seems to be running. Oh well, it least it is just chilly and not super cold. Later!

Prayers for my friend...

with troubles at home. Cover this sweet lady in prayer if you please. Sorry to be vague, but it is not mine to discuss further. Thanks my dear friends and prayer warriors.
