Returning to the land of the living...

Well, I am starting to feel better. I guess I have to actually admit that maybe Airborne really works. I think I am going to pick some up for the kids so that at least Aidan can get through the school year a little healthier. Trying to minimize the colds.
I included some pictures from our visit to Indiana. I have never eaten so much food in my life. My Godmother is an amazing cook. Her husband makes amazing breakfasts as well. They are such a neat couple. They have a beautiful home and were so kind to put up with all of us. Even the kids had a really good time.
Not too much exciting has happened this week. Mostly I have been playing catchup from my parents visit and our travels this holiday. Dishes and laundry. I have also been struggling to get well, but have managed to get most of my work done. It has been super cold this week and we are possibly getting the first major storm of the winter so far this weekend. We will see. Sometimes they say it will be bad and it actually isn't as bad as they predict. The plan for the weekend is to get the Christmas decorations out and at least get the tree set up and decorated. I can probably work on the rest of the decorating done during the week.
Next Tuesday is a big day and I am dreading it. More later gater.

Quick post...

back from the holidays and still sick. Sore throat, cough and congestion. I just wanted to make a quick post to let some friends know I was still here and I will post again when I get better. Later taters!

Wow, it is hard to take a picture of yourself. It is also hard to take a picture of a daughter that is constantly moving. You can see the whisp of her bangs. My hair is short compared to what I had. Whooo, she cut off almost 6 inches. Bad picture of me, don't like it. Hopefully I can get some good ones taken while my parents are here. I am hoping to get one for a Christmas card this weekend otherwise I don't think I am going to send them out this year. Too much work!
A shout out to Miss H. Sorry you are stressed. I will say some prayers for you! I am in the same boat at times and I promise I will e-mail you more soon.
Well, I am off to bible study this morning. Now where is my coffee...

A weekend of haircuts...

I finally got my hair chopped off this weekend. I love my new do and will hopefully post pictures later. It must have left and impression on Ainsley. We did not go to church Sunday because Aidan was sick, and Ainsley was quietly playing upstairs. She appears to have gotten into Aidan's art supplies and found his scissors. I have always trusted her with them before because she uses them very well. A little too well as I have discovered. All I hear her say is Mommy I cut my hair and she hands me a tuft. I about passed out! It actually wasn't a bad job, but this morning after the grocery store I took her to the Supercuts to get the hair evened out. She has bangs for the most part. It doesn't actually look half bad. I still want her hair all one length, but not for now I guess. I will post pictures tomorrow. I have a bit of a sore throat and congestion as does Aidan. He was better today though so I sent him to school. Ainsley is stuffy too so I finally invested in another humidifier since they both need one right now.

Flu Shots...

went well yesterday. Aisnely fought me a little, but all was smoothed over with a strawberry lollipop. Today is parent teacher conference. I am nervous because I always forget any questions that I had. I have to make sure that I write them down.

Our busy week is coming to a close and I went this morning to pick up some quick groceries and a turkey. Monday I will do the big holiday and parents coming to visit shop. Since we will be headed to Indiana, I don't even have to buy much for their stay which is cool. My Godmother sent me a note that she already has pasteles, and pastelillos made and in the freezer. Plus, she will be making a pernil while we are there. I am sooooo excited. Comfort holiday food. I love that my sweet hubby loves the PR cooking. So many husbands I know are picky eaters. I love that he isn't. Well, off the the library for story time. Adios!

So tired today...

because of our bad busy evening. Aidan threw a fit last night when I wouldn't get him a bug gun at the book fair last night. He could not be talked in to anything else and honestly he did not deserve anything, but he finally settled on some markers. On the way home he says, I should have gotten the Spiderman comic instead. Well that is what happens when you throw a fit and refuse to look around. Then the fit continued at home when I made the kids take a bath together. I had told Aidan all of this in advance however he was already in a foul mood. I felt like such a bad parent, but the toy he wanted was such a piece of crap. I would have bought him any book, comic almost anything else. So I went to bed really upset last night.

Today was Ainsley's turn. Did not want to really participate in tumbling. Then we went to the Family fun center, she was fine until another little girl wanted to play with "her" animals. Her fit continued until I just decided to take her home. I think she is tired too and already wants to take a nap, so I think I will actually put her down as soon as she eats her sandwich.

After I pick Aidan up today we are headed to the clinic for flu shots. Aidan is starting to get congested again so I am not sure if they will even give him one. We go to the doctor again Friday for the congestion. I am starting to really wonder if he has allergies. Would they come on all of a sudden like this? My friends who have kids will allergies have mostly food issues. When do kids get seasonal allergies or god forbid to things like pets.

Who knew...

that a simple game of ring around the rosy can turn into a full contact sport. It sure is the way my kids play it. Aidan is currently dragging Ainsley around the living room while she sings the ring around the rosy song. They have currently settled down into a round of BINGO. I leave them for an afternoon on Saturday with their Dad and I have to spend the next few days unwinding all the winding that he did. I am grateful that I did get to go on my shopping trip. I need to do that bit more often. B even took my car for an oil change and did my grocery shopping since I was not feeling well to get it done on Friday like I usually do.

I have a busy week in the works here. Tuesday Aidan has swimming which isn't too bad since I plan on having left overs tomorrow. I have crock-pot ravioli and a pot of chili left over. But, it is also Family Reading Night and I think Aidan wanted to go. We will have to see about that one since it goes pretty late for my two. Wednesday I take the kids for flu shots. I am going to have to remember to load them up on Motrin before we go. Thursday we have Aidan's parent teacher conference. Friday Aidan has his Dr appointment that was changed to a morning time. I am grateful for that! I also have to go do lots of errands, get ready for Thanksgiving and my parents visit. Too much! I also needed to get my act together about Christmas gifts because there are picture frames on sale at Hobby Lobby this week. I may not get that one done, so I hope they will put them on sale again. I really needed to get at least one set of frames before Thanksgiving. I really don't mean to sound like I am complaining. I am really not, but I am just not sure how I am going to get all of this done. I can always hit Hobby Lobby on Black Friday before we head to Indiana to visit my Godmother. Hummmm!

Instead of getting an oil change today...

I called the doctors office to schedul my flu shot. I decided to get one finally. They were able to take me right then since I live right around the corner from the doctors office. Now, I feel like crap. I had a migraine this morning which was going away and now my arm is just throbbing. I am such a wimpus.

Finally...

made my hair appointment at the new salon I am going to try. Why have I changed my haircut based on what the stylist at the other salon seems to be able to do? I like the salon I was going to, but I can still go there to get pedicures. The girl they have there is really good. I hate my hair right now. Too long, thick and unruly and now, since the weather is so much drier with all the cold air we have gotten, so much straighter too.

Talked to Miss J today too. They are back from their quick trip down south. We are going to have a girls shopping day this Saturday! We have been trying to plan something for a few weeks and we are finally able to get our schedules together. I am so excited you have no idea.

Busy busy today again. Aidan to school, home to clean up, Ainsley to tumbling and playtime at the Family Fun Center. Home to lunch, Ainsley nap, mop floors, laundry and finally nap for Mommy until I need to go get Aidan. So no more messing around on the computer. I am off for a rest!

Dreading today...

Aidan has a dentist appointment and swimming. Just too busy in one day. B says that he will make it home to take Aidan to swimming. I hope he does. At least dinner is already made. Next week is busy too. I think we have appointments/commitments every day other than Monday. At least Aidan has Friday off from school so that eases the burden on our Friday Dr appointment. I hate when we are so busy beyond our normally busy lives. How did we get this way?

To shoo the flu...

Do you typically get flu shots? I don't usually because I don't usually get the flu. I haven't had it ever I don't think. The clinics here recommend it for parents of small children. I have the kids shot appointments scheduled for next week. Should I get one myself? I have been worried about sickness this year since Aidan is now in the public school system and we had such a hard year last year. So far I have only had to deal with colds and Aidan's ear infection, also Ainsley's bout with roseola. Not to bad so far. Can't decide. I should probably. I will talk with the nurse when I take the kids as they have posted the clinic times in the paper the peds day is not the same as for the adults of course so I will have to schedule myself a separate appointment. What to do what to do?

B's party 2...

B's party was actually pretty fun. I stayed up way too late and drank too much for me which wasn't really a whole lot. Not feeling to good today so the kids and I are having a pajama morning while B works outside. I did a ton yesterday and this morning in the clean up process so I for once feel no guilt about being lazy. Besides I feel terrible. Well, I need to get around to fixing the kids lunch. I think Ainsley is hungry because as I type she is eating an M &M pancake that B made this morning. What to do with all the left over food. I am going to have to send some to the office on Monday at least and maybe take something to bible study on Tuesday. More later folks!

B's party...

is today and I am franticly trying to finish cleaning. I am mostly done. While I type I am waiting for my floors to dry. I have some cooking to do and some chopping of vegetables. I should have just bought a finished veggie tray, but I just have to do everything the hard way. I did buy loaves of french bread from the bakery so at least I made it a little easier on myself.

I have a feeling it is going to be a late night so wish me luck. I am going to be drinking tons of caffeine just to keep up with these people. Let you know how it goes. Bye!

Thursday, November 01, 2007

Wow,

I procrastinating in a major way this week. I ahve a ton of housework to do to get ready for a office poker party that we are hosting. B is finally having everyone over here so that I can actually go to something and get to know his work people. I have no problem meeting and socializing with these folks, but if I am going through the effort and expense to hire a sitter I am going to get some alone time with my sweet hubby in a dark restaurant and/or movie theater. Call me selfish. One of the wives is very sweet and told me the next time that she and her sisters have a scrapbook evening she is inviting me over. As I don't scrapbook or have pictures printed this could be a problem. Got to get on this one.

The kids went Toting on Sunday afternoon and the M family came over to join us. They live on a dead end street and don't get much Halloween traffic or participation. Miss J could not believe how busy our house was. Our street is a popular TorTing spot. The kids had a blast with their friends and Ainsley actually went to most of the houses. She only cried at the scary costumes, but was okay as long as Daddy was nearby. Mr. I was not having any of the holiday and stayed upstairs playing with Aidan's cars and trains. The kids and I had a photoshoot yesterday ti get the above picture.

We I have some e-mail to send so I had better get off of here and move on to other things. I am eventually going to have to get to the housework. Ugh!
