Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Some of what was up this week...

These are some of our activities this week.  Nice warm weather that necessitated a swim in the pool. The open mouth was Miss Ainsley pretending she was an alligator and Aidan was throwing her pretend fish to eat.

Ainsley also went to Welcome to Kindergarten at which she had a blast.  She was excited to have one of her little church friends in her class.

Aidan was excited that he was finally old enough to go the a golf camp through our town's parks and rec department.  4 afternoons and free buckets of balls at the driving range for the rest of the summer.  I wonder if he will be able to talk the hubby into taking him to practice.  We were sitting quite a distance away for our safety.  Aidan is in the middle of the group in a white shirt, blue shorts, and burgundy ball cap.

We also made trips to the library to check out new materials for our road trip tomorrow as well as ran various other errands.  It has been a busy but fun week.  I am hoping this next week will be fun as well.  House hunting and getting to know the area a bit.  I will admit, I am still not hopeful for the quick sale of the house.  I keep hearing reports of the declining home sales market.  I am sure the powers that be at my husbands company will be understanding of this and give us extra time to move if needed.  Surely, they will not be unreasonable.  Many changes going on.  I will try to post some next week.  And hey, maybe we will end up putting a contingency offer on a house.  We have an agent from a neighboring town coming in on Sunday to hold an open house while we are away.  Not sure why another agent wants to show ours as an open house.  All I can think is that maybe they are new and need to get some hours under their belts.  Anyway, who knows what will come of it.  Well, I hope everyone has s blessed weekend.

I have...

started several blog posts and end up deleting them.  I don't want to sound like I am whining.  Same old same old around here.  Just trying to plan a bit more of my summer.  Trip to Cleveland, in-laws coming to visit and potentially a visit to Texas for a short trip with the kids at the end of the month.  Don't commit me to that one yet.  I have to check out airfares first.  I still have my cancelled ticket from April so hopefully I can work out something not terribly expensive.  I have some cute pictures from our activities this week.  Ainsley went to Welcome to Kindergarten.  Aidan went to golf camp.  The cool thing about the golf camp besides the fact that he was actually taught to stand and swing a club properly is that anytime he wants to go for the rest of the summer he gets a free bucket of golf balls.  I love the free stuff!  Anyway, we head to Cleveland for the week sometime on Friday.  I am not sure what we are going to find house wise.  We have a ton of listings on the West side from our agent.  B will have quite a drive to work, but that is what he gets if he insists on new construction.  The houses on our list however are a fair mix of new and old and by old I mean 1930's and up.  Much younger than the house we have now!  Well, I will hopefully post some pictures tomorrow.  My golf pictures are from quite a distance as we needed to sit away from the group in case of wayward balls coming our way.  More tomorrow I hope!

Out of School...

for the summer.  Last Thursday was the last half day of school for my big kiddo.  Ainsley finished on Wednesday.  Thursday ended up being very busy as I had a dentist appointment, a house showing, and B's new plant manager and wife came over for dinner as they were in town.  We must make that a more regular thing while we are still here as they are a fun couple.  Trying not to get depressed over the house selling thing, but, alas, it is difficult.  I keep getting the feedback from showings which is all positive, but no offers yet.  It has only been 3 weeks which is what I keep telling myself. The weather has not cooperated for fun summer activities as yet.  Friday rained, Saturday was cloudy and threatened to rain and of course was Aidan's last soccer game for the spring.  Yesterday we played outside with some neighbor kids but it was mostly cloudy and then it rained.  I woke up to clouds this morning and apparently the threat of more rain this afternoon.  At least my mini veggie patch is getting plenty of water without my help.

This morning, I was a bit more creative in my breakfast making as we don't have to rush anywhere early this week.  I made these awesome low fat strawberry scones.  Aidan had to add jam to his and ate 2 of them.  Ainsley decided she did not like baked strawberries but added butter and ate almost all of hers.  I thought they were yummy as is and will definitely make them again.  Just lightly sweet with a touch of strawberry.  I think they would be excellent with blueberries as well.

Well, it is a bit of a light week for us.  I am hoping for sunshine for a beach trip later in the week.  Next week is a bit busier as Ainsley heads to Welcome to Kindergarten and Aidan to Golf Camp in the afternoons.  We will also be headed to Cleveland sometime that following weekend as well.  So, this next few days B is in Greensboro, NC visiting one of his plants and he will be working the assembly line to get to know his people.  Can't wait to hear how that goes!  I have got to find my summer routine as here it is 9:19 and I have yet to shower or do anything other than make breakfast and do dishes.  Well, I am off to vacuum and put in a load of laundry.  What are your plans this week?

Wow...

I cam across this verse today in my scheduled reading for the day...Psalm 127:2  In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat- for he grants sleep to those he loves.

Wow, like I said in my title.  This struck such a chord with me today.  This is how I feel in this moving process.  As if all the cleaning up I am doing is in vain.  I need to trust Him more.  I clean because that is the one thing that I feel that I can control.  I am not thinking that He does not love me because I am secure in the fact that he does.  Just kind of wondering what His plan is for us these days and the when if it all as well.  Trying to turn it over to Him and remember that it is his plan and his time not mine.

MIA

Well, all I can say is that this has been an interesting and stressful few weeks.  Our home has been officially listed for 2 weeks, we have had many showings, and an open house.  I have been cleaning up like a storm on a daily basis which has required me to change my schedule a bit.  School lets out this week so my pressure filled mornings will be alleviated for a while.  I have had to juggle our summer schedule a bit, but I am going to proceed as if we will be here in the fall for the kids school.  Ainsley will be headed to the Get ready for K program, and Aidan's plans for gifted and talented curriculum has been finalized. In recent days weather around here has cooled down considerably but one afternoon when we had a showing while the kids had the day off from school we packed up our gear and headed to our favorite beach.  What a nice afternoon!  I am hoping to make this a regular outing for us this summer.  It is free, it is fun, the kids are worn out when we are done.   I have also made some changes to my comments on this blog.  For some reason, I have people posting "comments"  in some asian language characters.  Don't know why as I haven't come across this on other blogs I read.  If it doesn't stop, I will be making this blog private to where you have to log in to gain access.  Anyway, just wanted to let my friends know I am still here and hanging in there.  I am headed to the local zoo with Ainsley and her 4K class tomorrow morning so we are hoping it does not rain!  I also have to buy a watermelon to provide for her class fruit salad day on the last day of school.  Fun stuff!  I have more pictures I would like to share and will hopefully get back into the habit of posting more regularly.  Take care everyone!
