More Pics

Can you believe it two posts in one day! I had to post my precious peanuts. More Aidan birthday pictures. Ainsley was my birthday cake helper. I promise I was done using the frosting that I would serve to our guests before letting her have at it. Anyway, had some spare time this afternoon as B took his parents to see Aidan at his Happy Hoops class. TTFN!

Birthday picture

I just wanted to post this picture quickly. My in-laws are still here so I have not had as much time to mess around on the computer. My FIL occupies it much of the time he is here. I wanted to post an Aidan birthday picture before more time got away from me. Here is one of him in his birthday hat from school. This week he is student of the week and he was so excited to do his "homework". It was just a short questionaire asking things like his favorite color and who is in his family. He also gets to take show and tell today so he is thrilled. Anyway, the in-laws were a little vague about when they were leaving, but sometime this week is what they told me. They said maybe Tuesday, or maybe Wednesday, or maybe Thursday. We will just see. Hopefully I will have more time this week to post a few more pictures.

In-laws visiting

My in-laws arrived last night. They called Sunday night to say they were on their way. I will post pictures of Aidan's birthday as soon as I can, but they are keeping me busy since I need to get to the store to pick up some things to have on hand for meals and I have not had a chance to get to the store until today. They will see how my schedule is some days since they are going to watch the kids so I can get to the store and they want to go out to lunch. Not always easy on school days, but hopefully I will be able to take Aidan straight to school after eating. I will post more tomorrow I promise. I am going to try to work on pics this afternoon, just not sure if they are going to spend the afternoon here or in their RV.

Aidan is 5!

My kiddo is 5 today. I will post pictures later on as I have some great ones. I am going nuts though getting ready for his party tomorrow, not that it is a huge party or anything, but I am just running short on time to do stuff. I had to take Ainsley to the doctor this morning. Another ear infection. Her second one, but the first one lasted nearly 2 months hence my concern. The dr seemed to think that she would recover very easily though and I hope she is right. The good thing about all of this was that Ainsley was able to tell me that her ear hurt. What a blessing! I am off as I need to put some laundry in before I get Ainsley up to pick Aidan up from school. I will post pictures after the party this weekend!

Sorry no posts

So sorry no posts in a few days. I have been busy trying to catch up on some things, plus we have had some great weather so we have been spending some time outside getting some yard work done.

Aidan went to Happy Hoops on Monday and had a blast. He needs to practice some things they taught him but Brian says he was a great listener and answered a lot of the coach's questions. My boy is so bright. He also started to ride his big kid bike my himself yesterday. I thought he would continue to struggle with it for a while this year, but he picked it up by himself yesterday. He wanted us to help, but we told him we couldn't and if he wanted to ride he would have to try it himself. He wanted to ride so he finally tried it by himself and was riding on the sidewalk in the backyard without help. I am so proud of him! I knew he could do it if he would just try by himself. He has Happy Feet, soccer, Saturday morning so I hope that goes as well.

Aidan's birthday party is this weekend so I am getting ready for that. I will try my hand at making a lightsaber cake to go with our Star Wars theme. I am hoping after the rain today that the weather will dry out so that we can get the kids outside. I am hoping to set up some sports equipment so the kids can play. Say some prayers for my MIL. They were supposed to leave Texas on Monday so that they could spend next week here and my MIL is sick again with colitis. I don't think she is as bad this time as she was last fall, but she is bad enough that they are delaying starting out on their trip so it is looking like they will be missing Aidan's party this weekend after they had originally planned on being here. Oh well, pray that she gets better soon!

Time to cook dinner so I am off!

Jelly Bean Bark

I finally got my Easter pictures off the camera and organized! I had to post a picture of the jelly bean bark the kids and I made Easter weekend to share with our friends. The kids had a great time making it as well as eating it. It turned out so pretty and colorful too. I must need a bette camera or at least better lighting because this picture did not do the colors justice. It was a really fun treat to make so we will have to keep it in mind for next year.
The kids our out with Daddy today. They were supposed to head out with some friends but a car accident altered the plans a bit. Everyone is fine, but their little buddy had to head home early to go pick up Mom and brothers at the hospital. B is still out with the kiddos so I guess they are having a good time at least. I have enjoyed my day off!

The snow is melting...

it should be in the upper 40s today, I am running on adrendalin and caffiene and life is good. Church group was really fun last night, but I just could not get to sleep so I am tired this morning. Tonight we have some friends coming for dinner so I don't even really have too much house cleaning to do. I like this couple that is coming tonight, but really they make me feel old. That is terrible because they are so nice, but they are about 10 years younger that I am. I still see myself as a young person until I am around someone who is younger. Oh well.

We have a babysitter scheduled for the weekend. This is the first time I have had a teenager watch the kiddos. I am completely confident that Miss A can manage the kiddos. It is just strange. I have never paid anyone to sit before. It will be an expensive evening, but this is something that I think I have to do and get over my anxiety to leave the kids with people. At least they will be home and can fall asleep in their own beds which makes my life a ton easier. Well, not much else to blog about today. I need to get some work done on my bible study, but I should probably get everyone dressed and such first. Let's see if I crash this afternoon after taking Aidan to school. I am off!

Church Group

Our church group is meeting at our house tonight. We are having chili and finger foods as a kind of get to know you dinnerbefore our next study begins. Our next study is in depth about generosity. Should be good, but I think it is going to be a lot of work from the worksheets I have peeked at in the book. It looks like we are going to have about 12 people over. I hope our fearless leaders enjoy the break from having everyone at their house this week. I have to dust finish cleaning bathrooms and get this office in order. We had a ton of snow yesterday so Aidan wants to play in the snow instead of go to the library today. I think he just likes the books we got last time and wants to keep them a while longer. They aren't due until next week so there is no problem there. I am really hoping this is the last snow until next winter. I sure liked our warm up a few weeks ago. I could really use a warm up again! Well, I have to get some work done before we head out to play. I probably should reshovel the front walk while we are out. Let's see if I can do it without feeling like my arm is going to fall off later.

Silly Easter Picture

B tells the kiddos "look at me" so that he can take their picture and this is what he gets. I don't get the reason for the leaning but I just thought this was hilarious. Easter just about killed me. We went to the 9am service, and I worked as a volunteer for the 11am service in the nursery. 30 kids 5 years old and under with 8 adults. I had this heavy 5 year old on my hip most of the time because she refused to be put down. She was worse than Miss Ainsley about that. I was so tired after making our Easter dinner B cleaned up the kitchen for me. So sweet. I hope all who read this had a blessed holiday and remember why we celebrate. He is risen, He is risen indeed!

Wow, a crazy week already!

What a crazy week and it is only Wednesday morning. My friend shared some big news with me which I am not going to post here and she is not sharing her news with the world yet, but I am thrilled for her and will be keeping her in my prayers.

I woke up last night to gusting winds and this morning I raise the window shade and what do I see but a dusting of snow. I can't believe it is going to be in the mid-30's around here for the rest of the week and Easter Sunday. I forget that I am in Wi and that is just how it is here. Last week it got up to the 80's, which is really warm for here, but I was sure loving it. The kids and I were sick but we took the opportunity to get outside and air out the house.

My friend Miss Jess's daughter Miss K has a crush on Aidan. I don't think Aidan understand that, but she refers to him as her bestest boyfriend. How cute is that!

I am finally getting to get my hair cut today. It has been since before my surgery so my hair is ridiculously long. I have just been busy and swamped with work and sickness and general business. This has got to get better, but I am not sure when since B wants be to sign Aidan up for some sports. I am hoping that B will take Aidan to the sports classes. B wanted to sign Aidan up for baseball, but Aidan wanted basketball and soccer. Go Aidan! I have been wanting him to pick soccer. I think it would be right up his ally. I don't get to sign him up until next week so I hope he can get in.

Ainsley's goose-egg is nice a green. Won't that be nice for Easter pictures. Church services are being held at the Capital theater this weekend so that should be a blast. They are presenting the Resurrection in a WHat is the BIG DEAL format so it should be a really cool service. I am going to try to get Aidan to come into the service with us. He is still at the age that he can go to the nursery class, but I think he would enjoy all the music. I will let you know how that goes. Well, I need to stop wasting time so I am off. Why is the computer such a time suck for me...I get started with e-mail then I end up surfing around a bit and I end up having spent an hour in front of the computer. I need to use my time more wisely. I am off!
