is 10 years old today.  This boy for whom I have shed the most tears, before and after his birth.  This boy was born after an emergency induction.  I was in to see a high risk ob that day to verify the baby was okay for a scheduled induction the following week.  My blood pressure was sky high and would not come down after resting in a recliner for 30 minutes.  My feet were swollen like potatoes and I was starving because the dr was running very behind.  So, my head starts to ache and they send me up to be admitted.  He was delivered after several hours of pitocin and the shutting off of my epidural because I was not being productive.  I would call that natural child birth.  No pain relief!  That night I was so tired and trying to sleep but nurses were back and forth trying to do uterine massage because my body was not behaving like it was supposed to and I was bleeding to much.  They let me go all night this way before contacting my physician.  She was livid and I did know any better so I could not fuss at them and force them to call her sooner.  Finally they give me a drug that stops the hemorhaging, however not before my blood levels are frighteningly low.  I was fainting all day.  They do more blood work and ask if I am willing to take a blood transfusion.  Yes, of course, I can't function like this.  All I did was feed my baby that day.  I could not get out of bed to change diapers or anything.  The next morning I get 2 units.  I don't feel 100 percent but much better.  My boss comes to visit.  You may not know, but in my previous life I was a Medical Technologist.  I was one of the people who would handle your blood when it was drawn at a drs office or hospital and get the testing done.  My knowledge of the numbers was frightening!  My boss sees the blood bags and is shocked.  He calls me several times to check on me and my numbers because he also knows where I was.  All of this ended in the blessing that my baby was 100 percent healthy and fine.  My text book baby is now a 10 year old boy who loves all things sports, who is brilliant, who loves to read, and who loves school as long as it stays at school, so no homework for him please.  Love you buddy!

Since when...

is peanut butter, $8.19 a jar!  I will admit it has been a while since I have purchased pb at the grocery.  I usually buy a twin pack at Costco usually 2 XL jars at around $10, but recently they stopped carrying my brand.  Today, I just picked the large jar of Jif at Giant Eagle and about died.  Really!  If my children did not practically live on the stuff for lunch I would not have purchased it.  I hope Costco starts carrying my brand again or I am going to have to start making a Wal-mart run for pb to see if their prices are better.  Just an observation on this lovely sunshiny morning.  Hope everyone has a good week.  Hoping to get back for another post later this week with photos of our weekend activities.

I could not get my act together yesterday to get pictures up.  Between church, accidentally napping and putting my Easter meal together, I had my hands full.  So above we have a bit of our weekend.  We dyed eggs, we made Jello Jigglers eggs, the Easter bunny brought the kids Easter baskets and we headed to church.  B was off on Friday so we also went to the new aquarium and Saturday we went to a local sports center to play miniature golf.  The kids are on spring break this week.  I am hoping for nice weather to get out and about a bit.  Today, however, we have chores to take care of.  We are headed first for groceries, as we are out of milk and coffee, and then we are headed to the library for new reading material.  Hope everyone had a blessed Sunday and have a most excellent week.

Experimenting...

I tried something last week.  To give some back story, during times when I am not feeling well I find myself gravitating towards the computer.  I can catch up on news, friends, etc so that I do not feel so disconnected from the world.  Well, lately I have found myself wasting time on the computer even when I am feeling better, no more migraine, stomach bug, strep.  So to my experiment...last week I decided to minimize my computer time.  I would only check Facebook, news outlets, and friends blogs twice a day.  Once in the morning and another time in the late afternoon/evening.  Needless to say, productivity increased around the house.  I made a run to goodwill with items that I had collected from the closet I had cleaned out and organized.  I still need to work on the playroom and storage area, but I just haven't made myself go there yet.  The storage area is a big project as it mostly involves reorganizing the file cabinet and going through all the papers stored within.  I need to spend less day time on the computer, but it is something for me to do when I, for example, am eating lunch alone.  I will be on less time next week while the kids are off for spring break.  I just find that I am not always disciplined enough not to spend 30 minutes tooting around on the computer.  Now, some of it is actual work time when I need to pay bills and such but the vast majority is just time wasted.  Not sure what to do about this except pray that I will start to use my time more wisely.

Well, I am off again as my dryer is beeping at me and I must get some work done today.  The hubby is having friends from work over on Thursday night and I have to get this place in shape.  It is mostly in shape, but laundry and dishes get out of hand the most if I start to ignore them.  Have a most excellent Holy Week all!
