Aidan finishes preschool!

Yesterday was a big day at our house, my little man finished preschool. They had this really cute concert and received certificates and the teachers also sent home a really nice laminated page with a class picture and a picture of kiddo with them. Sooo cute! One of his teachers goes to church with us so we will see her from time to time. I also received his kindergarten camp letter. He goes the last week in June. I guess he is a kindergartener now. Sigh.
Going to run errands and visit friends tomorrow. Hopefully it will be pretty low key and fun. Then we are off for two weeks! Probably won't post until I get back, and hopefully I will have pictures.

Better late than never...

I guess I should say here. This was a gift for my friend's baby. He was born in December! I had all the pieces all cut out but never got this put together with all the holiday mess. Then I had surgery, then we got sick, then...you get the picture. Well, now it is done. I am so pleased with how it turned out and I am all set to get it packed into the suitcase. If it doesn't fit then I am going to have to get it mailed before we leave town this weekend. Our trip time has finally arrived and I am so excited but am so tired as well. I did not sleep at all on Saturday night because of my busy brain making lists of all I have to do this week. I got so much of that list done today and have narrowed it down to only a few items remaining. Yay! Well it is late and time for bed. B went to bed super early tonight. Poor guy gets up so early in the morning that some days he just crashes. Time to finish my tea and head to bed myself. I am off for now and hopefully will post another time or two before heading out of town. Not sure if I will be able to post while I am away. Never get much computer access between my Dad and FIL. We will see...

Work and such...

B's boss just accepted a promotion in Cleveland. Makes me sad that they will be leaving in the next year because they are a sweet family and Aidan and one of their boys are really good friends. Since they will be leaving, it is assumed by many that B will be next in line for his position. If that happens, B's position will need to be filled but by whom. B has started contacting friends to see if anyone is interested so we shall see. It would be cool if this worked out this way and one of our friends would be hired. I could have someone from home in town! I can't get so excited. All the planets have to align just right for all this to happen, Please Lord please. I hope this is in your plan because it sure would be great.

Thursday I made the trek to Target. I miss Target and must make the plan to shop there more often! Anyway, the trip was very productive and I was able to get most everything we needed for our trip next week. So exciting and a huge load off my mind.

We have a sitter for the kids tonight so it is date night. I think we are going to try one of the newer restaurants in town and head to the movies as well. I hope it is good. I am not really to sure about some of this Wisconsin cooking sometimes. Some of the older restaurants sure seem to be fascinated with Hollendaise sauce. Maybe it is just me and I am going to the wrong places. The hope is that we will get to go see the new Spiderman movie. Should be fun! Soccer this morning so I had better stop wasting more time on this computer and get everyone ready for the day.

Oh, I am almost done with my friends baby quilt. I will post a pic when I am finished. It has gone together so nicely. I used flannel for the backing and I loved using it. It is so soft! Love love love it! I have not worked with flannel before so it was something new. Also since I was going to do stitch in the ditch quilting I used quilting safety pins instead of straight pins. Much better way to go. It was much sturdier to sew and less injury to my arms and hands. Great all the way around. I am so close to being done I am just going nuts because I want to finish, but alas since we have a date I won't get to work on it today. Oh well, need to spend some time with my hubby. More later!

Swamped today...

I have had so much stuff to do today. Some days there are just not enough hours and it takes too long to get the kids ready to go anywhere as they turn into molasses. Getting ready for B's birthday tomorrow. Here you have to bring your own birthday snack so I am trying something new and making cake balls dipped in chocolate. My first batch tastes great but aren't very pretty, I will let you know how batch number 2 goes. I also among my other errands tomorrow am stopping to pick up an ice cream cake from Cold Stone Creamery. B thinks that I forgot to order one. I actually called them today so I will pick it up tomorrow. He forgot to get me one for my birthday, but I guess I will be sweet and get one for him.

Funny from yesterday. We had Miss J and kids over yesterday afternoon. At dinner Aidan says, "Oh man, I forgot to tell Kiersten that I am moving." So I said, "Are you going somewhere that I did not know about?" "Yeah, we are moving to Texas when school is finished." Here I realize that he is refering to our vacation to visit relatives next week. I then explain to him that we are not moving, just going for a visit and that this is our home now and we will come back here in about 2 weeks. It is funny what he remembers. At this time last year he was finishing MDO, the following week the movers came and packed up all our stuff and moved us here. I think since we planned our trip so soon after he gets out of school he was thinking that we were moving agin. Funny little man. Anyway, I am off as I have more cake balls that need dipping. More another day!

Soccer Saturday

My little man is in Happy Feet (soccer) on Saturday mornings. The peewees are so cute running around. Aidan actually does pretty well since he practices so much in the yard with Daddy. Finally took the camera today to get some pictures.

Had to inculde Miss Ainsley too. It has been a nice day so we hit the Farmers Market as well. It is still early in the season so there weren't any veggies available, but we did buy some plants as well as cookies from the Amish bakery and egg rolls from Miss Xu. Awesome morning.

No migraine!

After a long evening and night finally the migraine is gone.

Screaming...

B has just come home from work and I hear screaming. At least it is happy screaming so I am not too concerned, but I decide to check to make sure. I come around the corner into B's office and this is what I see. Both kids in his lap and they are having a squeezing contest. How silly are they and how great is their Dad to participate. Hilarious!

Yesterday was Aidan's year end parent teacher conference. He got an excellent report. He is academically very ready for kindergarten. Is Mommy ready, nope. I am glad that the teachers think he will do well.

First time this week I have been able to get up in the morning and not have a scorching migraine. It is still a little twingy like it could come back if I am not careful. I am going to load up on caffeine today just in case because I don't want to throw that into the equation now.

I have also been able to get some sewing done the last few evenings. I am heading to visit friends and family in a few weeks and I realized I needed to get my act together in order to finish my friends baby quilt so that I can take it to her. I would like to child to have it before he is a year old! I am so behind, but it is going together nicely and quickly so I should be able to get it done as long as I pace myself. Lots of work today as I am hosting bible study and my house is still a mess! More another time!

What a Blast!

Bible study this morning was awesome, brunch and testimonies. I hope I get to see some of those ladies this summer because it has been so much fun. I need to call Miss J as she missed today. I hope her kiddos aren't sick as I don't think thay were at church on Sunday either. Still struggling with migraine issues today, but I am much better now than I was this morning. The weather is awesome today! The kids and I spent some great time outside before lunch and I took the time to chat with Miss N. It was so great to get to talk with her! Can't wait to see her when we head to Texas and meet her newest little one. What a blessing to have such a great friend. No pictures today yet. If the weather holds I will try to get the kiddos outside for some shots this afternoon. We are grilling this evening so it will be a perfect opportunity. More later!

Why is it that I am so sad...

these last few days. I have really been very sad about Aidan starting Kindergarten in the fall. I think I am more sad about it now than when I registered him a few months ago. I have a feeling that all these thoughts have something to do with the fact that we are entering the last few weeks of preschool. I am just heartbroken about this! I should be excited that he has learned so much this year especially in the reading and writing departments. We probably still need to do some fine motor work but we will see what the teachers say during conference this week. This evening while I was cleaning up the kitchen I even started crying about this. I just glanced at the fridge and saw his star student certificate and I just started to cry. I have a feeling this is going to be a lot harder for me than I originally thought. I hope I am not a blubbering mess all summer.

Headache!

I have a migraine for the 2nd day in a row. Could it have to do with my company leaving? I hope not. I knew I was stressed, but I did not thing I was that stressed. Anyway, I at least managed to take the kiddos to the community built park yesterday where we ran into some friends. That was a pleasant surprise. I haven't spent much one on one time with Miss C. It was a nice opportunity she is a sweet lady. Well, I took the kiddos to to zoo this morning as well. The house is still a wreck since I have been feeling so bad, and I offered to host our small group next week. Finally the opportunity to get the house picked up.

I wanted to add a quick picture of the kiddos playing in the yard from a few weeks ago. I just got it off the camera. Playing in the brush that B had trimmed. Very cute. I am so glad the weather is warming so that we can play outside again.

The in-laws ...

left this morning. I have been so worn out by their visit. Last time they came, they stayed for a week and a half and stayed in the house but at least Aidan was off part of the time and B was off part of the time. This visit, Aidan was in school and in sports 2 days a week. We had other appointments and such already scheduled as well. Plus, with their scedules being what they are they don't come over here until mid-morning when our family needs to start thinking about lunch. It was a little difficult and I think they were bored at times. Ainsley still has not been sleeping well so besides the stress I feel of their visit I was tired too. My house is a wreck since I haven't done much during their visit but get laundry done. They see a bit more what our life is like which I think was eye opening for them and maybe would make them a little more tolerant of why I do thing they way I do things. If the kids get too off kilter we get tantrums and fits and crankiness. Our June trip should be interesting as well, we will be staying with them and wanting to go see our friends who live in town as well. I hope they will understand that we would like to see our friends too. I think it will be fun if they will understand that. Grandpa will be the one I have to worry about but I am ready to go to battle over that one, I hope B will be too.

I am glad to have my house to myself again so I think I am going to skip cleaning up and head for a nap. The mess will still be here tomorrow. ARGH!
