Well our busy week is finally winding down a bit. Aidan had a great time in Kindergarten camp so I know he will do well in the fall. I am paranoid so I will be taking him to school, I come from a town where it can be dangerous for kids waiting for the bus. I don't want him waiting outside early in the morning for the bus to arrive, plus I remember how much I hated it.
We have a Drs appointment this afternoon. Aidan is concerned about getting "pinches". I don't think he is due for any, so I am trying to reassure him that if there are any it will be quick. Otherwise not much has been going on. I have been taking care of some things around the house as we will be having company arrive this weekend, mopping, dusting, cleaning bathrooms and such. Our friends in Tennessee are on temporary assignment in Michigan and we talked them into coming to visit since they are relatively close by. It will be so great to see them as it has been over a year since we have had the chance to visit with them.
Getting together by phone with my friend Chris tonight for a sewing session. I just love that my cell has a speakerphone. We signed up for a block of the month through a quilt shop in Ft. Worth. They had on-line ordering so they will be shipping it to me. This way Chris and I can continue working on something together. I love the colors of the first block too...dark pinks, purples and greens, light and dark. I hope the other colors are just as pretty!
Not much else going on. More another time...Later!

Sad news...
I have to stop watching the news really. WHen I don't watch though I completely feel disconnected from the world. They found that missing mom in Ohio. I am just sick for her family and especially for her little boy. From what the news said it seems like he saw what happened to his mother. I am just heart-broken for them.
On the lighter side. Aidan went to kindergarten camp this morning. He was a bit shy at first but left me pretty quickly when he saw the classroom and the other little boy that was there. Ainsley on the other hand cried that she could not stay. It may be a long school year if she is going to cry every time I drop Aidan off.

Small world...
We were hanging out this morning at the playground by the farmers market. He always asks to go the the farmers market on the weekend and the small playground is the only reason Aidan seems to want to go. Anyway, while the kids were on the tetter totter another little boy came over I asked Aidan if he could give the little boy a turn which he did and they started to play. So I start chatting with the boys mom, no biggie just chit chat. Then Aidan comes over and says to the woman, I look like an Aggie today, he was wearing his marron Astros gear. She is just silent. I am thinking okay how do I explain "aggie" to her. So I start to say, "Oh we moved last year from Texas...". She is just dumbstruck..."You went to A&M, I did too!" She was class of 84. She was so excited to meet B and I, we ended up chatting with her and her husband and family, her MIL and SIL were visiting from the Sherman area. Needless to say we traded numbers so hopefully we will be able to get together with them sometime as the boys seemed to play pretty well together, a little rough but well nonetheless. How funny that at a small town Wisconsin farmers market we would find other fellow Aggies. We will have to have them over sometime this summer I think.

Rest...
I was reading an article in my BH and G magazine yesterday about rest. The story was about how to take a break. I don't do this well at all, but I thought this statement was great,"Rest is remembering to exhale and recognizing that taking care of everyone includes me, too." The article was my a woman named Kathleen Parrish to give credit where it is due. It was like she was writing this to me. I need to do better at this if I am going to make it through the school year and minimize out coughs and colds. Remember to rest because Mommies don't get sick days. I noticed this yesterday especially. I finally quit messing around about 2:45 in the afternoon. The kids had been in bed a while so I figured I would lay down a few minutes then get Aidan out of bed and then Ainsley would be up soon after. I finally hear Aidan's door open and I check the clock and it was 4:10. I had totally crashed! I must have needed the rest and I feel guilty then I tell Brian that I took a nap that day. I love nap time and I should not feel bad about using it. Of course I don't know what I am going to do about that when I have to go back to work someday.

Posting Pictures
Quick post as I have a ton to do today. These are to complete the series of the swingset that my poor hubby slaved over building. It has been great for the kids to play on this week as he has been away and will be great to have when our friends visit with their daughter in a few weeks.
Tons to do today as I have to grocery shop and I am trying to limit my computer time. I waste so much time here doing nothing. Anyway, we have to get ready for the day so I am off.

Cleveland, Fathers Day and more...
B is in Cleveland for a series of meetings this week. It is going to be a long week for me. I get so tired when he is out of town. By Thursday, I am going to need a break from the kiddos, maybe I will be able to get the chance to head shopping on Thursday AM to use my gift certificate to a local shop. We will see.
Fathers day was nice and low key. One of B's new employees came for dinner and we grilled some burgers. Another relatively recent graduate so he is pretty young. He is actually getting married this weekend so congratulations to them. He seems very sweet and even offered to babysit the kids sometime if we ever wanted to go out one evening. It will be neat to meet his new wife sometime soon.
B finished the swing set this weekend. I have some pretty cute completion pictures which I will post soon. I was just trying to organize the office today and have not had the chance to get them off the camera as yet. Otherwise the kids and I spent today getting some more of their outside gear ready for summer. Finally went and bought and air pump so that I don't have to blow up their pool myself. Great investment! We got out the sprinkler ball and cleaned up the pool so they will be able to use it. Ainsley even got in the cold water and splashed around for about 30 minutes or so before I was able to talk her inside for lunch. Aidan asked to go to the play place so I am thinking since the weather will be kind of icky tomorrow here that we might head up to the mall in Green Bay. I have so many left overs though I could just pack a lunch and just buy the kiddos a juice there as a treat. I think that is what we will do tomorrow. I need to call Miss J too to see if they are free this week as well. Great to see them at church on Sunday. Oh well, I am tired and rambling so I am going to head upstairs for the night I think. More another time...

Men at work...
While I am inside struggling with a fearful child these days, B ended up getting a friend to help him get started putting together the swing set. I got some great pics of my men at work and Aidan hiding under the completed roof. Forgive the goofy face, but I loved the picture. I don't however think I will get out of working on the swingset any longer. It is my fault my poor hubby has to do all this in the first place. One problem we are having is with the dog. She is continually trying to chew on the scraps of wood. Probably not the most healthy thing for her to be chewing...pressure treated lumber. Hummm, I may need to break out the cayenne pepper if this keeps up.
Still working on catching up today odds and ends mostly. Finally have my suitcase out of the hallway which is huge! I am otherwise going to try to take it easy today. So nice to be able to do that for a change. Next week we will get out and about more as B will be away part of the week. Well, hopefully this will be a nice weekend too. I have nursery duty on Sunday otherwise I would like to hit the farmers market to see what there is to see. More another time a peewee is whining for me.

Watering the lawn
I had to water the lawn today as it seems that we have had a dry couple of weeks. I mentioned to Aidan that I had the sprinkler running and of course he must get wet. The water is just freezing, but the day has been pretty warm. Ainsley thought better of the whole thing and after insisting that I put her swim suit on too decided not to get wet. She doesn't like the sprinkler. After about 30 minutes of running around we came in for lunch and a silly ball tournament before heading up for nap. Don't ask, it is another Aidan invention, but you should hear the racket around here.

While we were away...

We're Back!
Finally back from vacation and trying to catch up a bit. The house is a mess with the chaos of suitcases and bags, but I got tons done yesterday and am a little back on track. I was very sad leaving my parents on Sunday and it surprised me a bit. I don't want to live in the Houston area again, but I sure do feel comfortable there. I wish they would come up here to visit soon. Otherwise I will see my sister in October and probably B's family again sometime in between now and then. B's sister was supposed to come for Labor day but I think she has changed her mind to go on another trip. For B's sake I am hoping she will change her mind, he was pretty disappointed when she said she wants to take this other trip instead.
We were exhausted after our two week trip of running everywhere and seeing everyone. Actually, we did have fun and I have been getting excellent sleep in the two nights we have been home. I just still do not want to get out of bed in the morning! I did pretty well using the camera on this trip. The only people I did not get pictures of are my Aunt and Uncle, Dad, and Chris. Otherwise I think everyone else was included somewhere. I will maybe post more shots later, but here are a few of the best. The cow picture was taken at a potty stop we made. B just loved the pasture behind the rest area and took several great photos of the cows and guinea fowl we saw there. Serene and lovely. I hope everyone is doing well I will post pictures later of the progress B has made on the back yard while we were away. The kids were thrilled with the swingset and Aidan is bugging him to put it together. Hopefully we will be able to get started after work tonight. So I am off to see what the kiddos are doing. I am shocked that it has been this quiet for this long. More another time!
