My son is a huge fan of the TV series Mythbusters. The crazy host try to prove/disprove common myths by using scientific principles. Lots of Chemistry, Physics, explosions, crashes, robots, all kinds of things he loves. One easy experiment we could do at home was the Mentos candy added to Diet Coke experiment. The addition of the candy to the soda causes tremendous amounts of carbon dioxide to form causing a geyser to erupt from the soda bottle. It goes to quickly for me to actually get a picture of the geyser, but I caught this one of them afterwards. Aidan had so much fun! Ainsley too. She loves it anytime she is included in things that Aidan does. Yes, Aidan is wet. He was directly over the soda bottle when he added the candy and did not get out of the way in time. Next time they want to make a volcano. The common adding vinegar to baking soda experiment. I may have to google instructions for that one next! In case I don't get a chance to post tomorrow have a good weekend all. Tomorrow I am having the carpet installed in the basement. I think the electrical and plumbing finish out is happening as well because we have the inspector coming out Monday. I will post pictures once the construction is done. We won't have much furniture down there for a bit, but I am hoping at some point soon to be able to start moving things that are stored in the garage down into the storage areas at least. Ahh, finally, things seem to be coming to a close and I will have my freedom once again. Later taters!

Oh so pink!
| Ainsley's room before the toys get moved back in |
I finished painting Ainsley's room. I just painted a few hours each day while they were involved in other activities or had them help me a bit. It turned out cute, but a little too pink for me. My little girlie loves it though and that is the important thing. I haven't started on Aidan's as yet. The hubby is out again this week and I forgot to have him move Aidan's armoire before he left. Not sure when I will get started.
The basement paint is finished. Tomorrow we are having the bathroom flooring installed. Carpet comes Thursday. Electric and plumbing sometime this week as well and inspections scheduled for Monday. Then we pay the contractor the rest of his money. Wow, this has been a long time coming!

Construction nightmares...
I am having nightmares about my basement. Construction is going well if not always smoothly. Most recently we had trouble getting the delivery of trim and doors. Mostly my nightmares involve the power going out, my sump pump failing, and leaking water all over the floor. They are supposed to be installing a battery backup for the sump so in the mean time I will continue to have weird dreams. This is starting to get to me I think.

What have I been doing...
Talking to a dear friend on the phone the other day and she asked what I have been up to craft wise. Sadly the answer is nothing. I am currently the queen of unfinished projects. In my defense, however, I have been working on some other creative projects. Namely, painting my kitchen. These pictures do not do justice to the color. It looks much brighter here than in reality. My photography skills are lacking especially when I am in a hurry. The color is called Ambitious Amber. I just love it! This week since I am caught up after the in-laws visit I started in on Ainsley's pink room. It is very pink, but I am hoping to finish this week so I will try to post pictures early next week. I would like to get the kids rooms painted before our next round of visitors for July 4th weekend. Wish me luck! Hope you all are having a great week so far.

Happy Friday all! The hubby comes home today after a few days out. And a shout out to my dear friend J. We are looking at joining B for his business trip in July. I will keep you posted on more definite dates when I have them. He heads up next week as well, but I did not want to hold up construction any longer with us being out of town for a week. Well later taters, I have to get food marinating for dinner tonight and this weekend. Rotisserie chicken, yummo!

Starting Summer Vacation...
Well, my in-laws left Monday morning and since I have been playing catch up. Getting there mostly. Still have some laundry to do but mostly there. The kids and I have been taking it a bit easy which has been nice. Monday we went to the library for the kick off to summer reading and picked up a ton of books to read. Construction is starting to move a bit faster, drywall finishing is happening this week. I am not looking forward to the sanding phase as it has been really warm here and needed the AC. The air will need to be shut off for that part. Going to be toasty! I have some pictures of the kids in the last few days. The purpose of the in-laws visit was to see the Indians play the Rangers. B and his Dad went to 2 games, and the whole family went on Sunday afternoon. They bought T-shirts for us all to wear. I was so uncomfortable! Among all the Indian fans there were only a few Rangers fans. We were given a hard time by a few fans, but it was in a good natured teasing way. I would never see a Yankees game with an opposing teams shirt on. It was Ainsley's first baseball game and she was very bored and hot. Poor thing! After the 7th inning I took her to a shady area and we just sat there for the remainder of the game. Unrealistic expectations that she would sit there for 9 innings of baseball in which she is not interested. My father in law even taped the game on TV at our house and was watching that when we got home. Ainsley says, "I don't remember seeing any of this because I was whining so much!" Explains the afternoon quite well.
I will add pictures later this week! Have a good one and stay cool!
