Baseball with Grandpa
|
These are the pictures I should just add to my previous post. We all had matching red t-shirts in the blazing hot sun. Not as hot as Texas mind you, but plenty hot. My FIL has plenty of difficulty managing himself in the heat, but not if said heat involves baseball. My in-laws have just aged so much in the last few years. My MIL and I had a nice conversation about that one afternoon when I had to run her to pick up some things at the pharmacy. I mentioned that I thought FIL would be better after having both knees replaced and that he would be up and around more since he was no longer in pain. She agrees that he is no longer in pain when walking but has become even more sedentary and sleeps even less. He likes to stay up all night and sleep during the day. Not a good schedule when we are a family of semi-early risers. My kids do not sleep super late, but usually until about 7:30 or 8 which my hubby and I can live with. I worry about FIL. His habits just seem so unhealthy to me and unfortunately if he doesn't want to make changes he won't. We have been down that road with him before. Keep in mind this is the same man that had a heart attack and quadruple bypass 11 years ago, dramatically lost a ton of weight and has put it all back and then some. He also had a terrible reaction to his first knee surgery and was in a coma for about a month and when he wakes up and is home he tells me that his health was not in any danger. Really, a coma is not a normal reaction to surgery. Ah well, it is like beating my head against a brick wall so I no longer say anything. When he gets frustrated with his situation maybe he will make some changes, I just hope that when and if he does it isn't too late.
Happy Friday all! The hubby comes home today after a few days out. And a shout out to my dear friend J. We are looking at joining B for his business trip in July. I will keep you posted on more definite dates when I have them. He heads up next week as well, but I did not want to hold up construction any longer with us being out of town for a week. Well later taters, I have to get food marinating for dinner tonight and this weekend. Rotisserie chicken, yummo!
