The truth comes out...

I have been very please with Aidan apparently trying new things to eat by occasionally buying a hot lunch from school in the last few weeks. It is typically chicken nuggets and mini corn dogs, but I appreciated the break from trying to come up with new sack lunch ideas. Today Mrs. Kue his lunch time teachers assistant found me during morning drop off to tell me that he has not been eating more than one or two bites of the hot lunches. I knew something was up yesterday when I asked him about his lunch and if he liked what he had. Today he has a packed lunch and I told him that I would not let him buy lunch anymore if he wasn't going to eat it. The last two days especially she said he has not eated much of anything. I am so grateful that she told me. Aidan usually confesses when he doesn't eat all of his packed lunch. Well, here we go back to the drawing board. Anybody have any good lunch ideas, beyond the typical pb and j, turkey, ham, chicken nuggents and occasional pizza rolls. Yes, I have even given him pizza rolls in his lunch much against my better judgement, but I have been desperate. I am desperately in search of alternative protein sources for lunch that is packable. Later gaters!

For different lunch box ideas. This mom photographed (she does not do it anymore) her son's lunch each day. There are a TON of things she puts in her son's lunch that I would imagine most kiddos would not eat- but just seeing the pictures might help you with coming up with different ideas for Aidan... I have used it as a starting point (of course, substituting real lunch meat for her tofu-faux-lunch meat, etc...) for Kyle's lunches. Although right now all he wants is sunbutter on crackers, applesauce cup and cereal bar... sigh...

I've packed a hot dog for Ian in his lunch - but his school has microwaves, not sure about RV. Good luck!

Bento boxes seem to be a big fad right now, so you might want to look into those and see if you can't get some ideas. I know that one of the girls in K's class won't eat sandwiches of any sort, so she sents cut up hot dogs, pasta, veggies, fruit... I'll have to ask her what else. But check out bento boxes.
