And the saga continues...

per our vet...

discontinue anti-inflammatory medication as it may be aggravating stomach issues.  Anti-inflammatory prescribed for arthritis in hips.

growth on her leg is an infection, antibiotics required.  Call office when stomach issues are resolved for prescription.

injury issue with her back leg is a torn ACL ligament in the knee.  Only remedy is surgical.  Is it worth having a 14 year old dog undergo surgery in light of all her other issues?  Do we want to incur this expense?  Not sure what it will cost so I will need to check with the office on that.

Oh my word!  At least she is currently not vomiting.  She is still struggling with the other end, but we have not had any more accidents as yet.  And, today she did eat some of a bland diet.  I prepared some steamed white rice for her and added a bit of kibble as per bland diet I found on line.  Are you kidding me...did I actually just cook for my dog?!?!?!?!

Is fourteen really old for a dog? Does this mean no cancer? I'm sorry about all the stress! I will pray for a smoother weak and a happier dog.

My husband is so sad about all the mess at Penn State. He really loved Joe Paterno for years, but feels he didn't protect kids well enough. It is so sad to see him go like this.
And we are both so sad about all the trauma for the victims. A friend from high school was abused by her dad, and she never went on to live a normal life. It is such a damaging trauma.

14 is old for a dog her size. Most larger breeds have a shorter life expectancy. This coupled with her other health issues...she is on medication for seizures, medication for a bladder issue, medication for thyroid, and glaucoma medication, everyone is surprised that she has lasted as long as she has. She is doing much better and for the moment getting around on her bum leg just fine. We will see what winter brings.

I am so sad about all going on at Penn State on all sides. I feel for the victims who had no voice. I feel for those who did not do enough in speaking for those young people. My only question has been why did this take so long to come to light. Obviously an individual saw what was going on and it took him this long to com e forward after realizing the administration did nothing. Ah well. Prayers all around that University.
