have found a church! At least it is one that is definitely worth a second look. Their children's area was closed this weekend due to a broken pipe and flooding there over the weekend. So, the second visit will be mostly for the children's ministry. The message given by the associate pastor was very good and we met one of the elders who spent quite a bit of time talking to the hubby. He made sure to give B his numbers seeing as how we don't know too many people in the area yet and said too call if we need anything. B really appreciated the gesture. It is Church of Christ based, but not the Church of Christ that I am familiar with from Texas. If any readers can give me information on this I would appreciate it. From their web site, their belief system follows our previous churches and they are part of the Willow Creek Assoc. Oddly enough, this church is similar in name to our much loved church in Wi which also makes me happy!
We spent much of this chilly weekend sledding, and at a roller skating party. The roller skating party was not what I thought it would be but Ainsley had fun regardless. She has asked for roller skates for her birthday, which is coming up, and asks daily to go back to the Roller-rama as she calls it. I hope everyone had a blessed weekend. I am enjoying a slow morning with the kids as they have off for MLK day. I do need to get my act together and head to the grocery store and do our stock up for the week. Braving groceries with the kids...what can you do though. Grocery shopping is one of those errands I prefer to do alone, however no milk definitely forces me to the store today. Later taters!

Glad you found a welcoming church! That was very nice to have the personal touch from that pastor.
This is how I keep these straight in my mind: When it's listed as the "United Church of Christ", it is a denominational, liberal-minded church, not usually evangelical. For example, they fight for gay rights and gay marriage, just to give you an example.
When it's just plain "Church of Christ", it's an independently run, non-denominational church, and almost always evangelical.
:) yeah for a possible church!!! that is such a big hurdle. and can i just say i do not really enjoy church shopping? just one of those things. glad the hubs was pulled in too. :) got to keep that one in line.
sending love from here to there. i know i need to call again...working on it!
